Dr. Susan Persall graduated from the University of Montevallo in 1997, where she Majored in Biology and Minored in Chemistry. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry and Master in Vision Science from UAB School of Optometry in 2001.
Dr. Susan began practicing in Hartselle, Alabama after the purchase Hartselle Eye Care in 2001. HEC outgrew it's original location and she went on to establish a new office building to accommodate the growing practice. She has successfully run the practice for over 18 years. She now staffs the office with eight employees.
In addition to Optometry, Dr. Susan looks forward to time with her family, and enjoys travel. She currently lives in Hartselle with her husband, Sean, and her son, Coleton. She spends time watching her son march in the Hartselle Junior High Band, in which he plays the saxophone. She also attends Coleton's many Track and Field meets. She is an active member at her church and teaches Sunday School to the church youth,
Kim specializes in insurance billing and patient relations. She has a multitude of knowledge in the every day procedures within our practice. She offers support to the exam staff and our reception desk when needed. Kim started her journey with HEC in 2014.
Kim is a Hartselle native and lives here with her husband and two sons. She enjoys shopping, decorating, and is quite the party planner.

Jana is our Head Optician and personal stylist. She will be there to assist you in obtaining the perfect frame for your lifestyle and structure. She is highly knowledgeable in lens specialties and specifications. She is a master in frame repairs and adjustments. Jana joined our team in September of 2015.
Jana worked in property management for ten years prior to her current role as Optician at HEC. She lives in Hartselle with her husband, four children, and their dog named Jazz. She looks forward to time with her family, friends, and enjoys travel.

Christy will be welcoming you into our office upon your arrival. She takes care of many administrative duties for our office. She prepares patient contacts and mailings, assembles all patient intake forms, verifies patient insurance coverage, Christy began her employment with us in September of 2017.
Christy lives in Hartselle with her husband, daughter, and son. They have a love for animals and are the home to chickens, ducks, and a dog named Zeus. She was a stay at home wife and mother until she ventured into the world of optometry.

Brooklyn is one of the smiling faces that will welcome you as you enter our office. She is responsible for greeting patients as they check-in and out, coordinating patient care to determine the necessary treatment plan, and maintaining appointments. Brooklyn is also trained in frame repair, assists on our sales floor, and offers support to the exam staff. She started with HEC her senior year of high school in 2017.
Brooklyn graduated from Hartselle High School in 2018. She works full time with us and is enrolled at Calhoun Community College studying elementary education. She is very active in church and leads worship on Wednesday nights for the youth. She is a beautiful singer!

Danielle is the Optometric Technician at Hartselle Eye Care. She is responsible for conducting patient diagnostic testing, measuring and recording vision, testing eye function, and much more. She has been with Hartselle Eye Care since January of 2018.
She lives in Hartselle, Alabama with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs. She and her husband have been Co-Directors of the Alabama Chapter of the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation since having a daughter with Hydrocephalus in 2011. She enjoys outdoor pastimes with her family, she loves photography, and Alabama football.

Bonnie is responsible for overseeing Insurance Accounts Receivable, maintaining our HIPAA compliance, and our training and business accreditations. Bonnie has an outgoing personality and compliments the office well. She began her role with Hartselle Eye Care in October of 2018.
Bonnie earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting at Auburn University in 1994. This is also where she met her husband. They now live in Hartselle with their three children, Rhett, Lance, and Ceana. She is active in her church, where she serves as a Youth Leader and an Adult Chaperone.
